Hall of Clestrain - The Environs

In this video Our President - Andrew Appleby, talks about the location of the Hall and its importance to the young lad known as John Rae who would go on to discover the fate of the Frankin expidition and the final part of the North West Passage.

The Hall was built in 1769 and is a grade A listed building, one of a few of its type in Scotland. It has a long history involving pirates, poets and explorers but is now in desperate need of rescuing for the next stage in its life - a world class Event Venue and an Education Centre for the Arctic.

If you would like to help us restore this fine building and turn it into an award winning Events Venue either contact us on info@johnraesociety.com or visit our web site at https://johnraesociety.com
